Petr Hodan

Founder of the Nala Foundation,
Buddhist teacher

Petr encountered Buddhism 25 years ago and since then, his life has remained deeply intertwined with this Eastern philosophy. Since 2014, Petr has been the heart of the Nala Foundation. Through his efforts, he aims to enable others in the West to discover the power of Buddhist teachings and traditional Tibetan medicine.

Petr's journey towards Buddhist teachings took a decisive turn after a fateful meeting with Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche from Nepal, who profoundly transformed Petr's life and his approach to traditional Tibetan Buddhism. Since then, Petr has focused not only on deepening his own knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism but also on imparting its fundamental principles to others in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Under the auspices of the Nala Foundation, Petr leads lectures, seminars, and meditation sessions. In his teachings, he helps people uncover deeply rooted behavior patterns, fears, and traumas that unconsciously influence their lives. He approaches his work with humility and according to Buddhist principles. Petr imparts Eastern wisdom without dogma or restrictions, focusing instead on logically explaining the principles of cause and effect, impermanence, and other concepts of life. He assists people in finding distance from everyday hustle and achieving the peace and inner balance inherent to him, helping them discover ways to apply the wisdom of Buddhist teachings to every moment of life.

Petr also contributes marginally to the translation oversight of Tibetan texts into English and Czech. He believes that people in the West can live fully in harmony with Buddhist principles. As a financial patron of the Nala Foundation, Petr strives to ensure that this teaching reaches all who seek lasting happiness and particularly aims to alleviate mental suffering.
