Mahayana - the Great Vehicle
Vajrayana - the Diamond Way
At the Nala centers, we practice traditional Tibetan Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu lineage under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje and Maniwa Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Our lineage, focused on bodhisattvas and yogis, is based on Mahayana Buddhism with elements of the Vajrayana tradition. Buddha taught that goals are achievable through the "two accumulations" of merit and wisdom, emphasizing the importance of both sutras and tantras for human development. All of Buddha's teachings are equally important and perfect, as they are absolute. A proper teacher, or Lama in Tibetan, can show students the most suitable combination of teachings for their path.
Nala centers are unique in regularly hosting meetings with qualified teachers such as Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche, Sabchu Rinpoche, Dubseng Rinpoche, Lodro Rinpoche, Gendun Rinpoche, Lama Nyima, and many others, who play key roles in Buddhist practice on the path to awakening. Every student has the opportunity to meet teachers personally and consult their questions about their practice.
In our centers, we hold regular group meditations based on the recommendations and structure proposed by Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. These meditations are open to anyone seeking deeper truths beyond the world of phenomena. Newcomers are welcome and will receive basic information about the Buddha's teachings before their first meditation.
The goal of practicing Buddha's teachings is to understand the nature of the mind and achieve lasting happiness and liberation from suffering, which is the eternal wish of all beings. Buddha's teachings are perfect, and following his instructions with the right motivation inevitably leads to achieving this goal.
